USF's College of Behavioral and Community Sciences Town Hall: Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Reality in Behavioral Sciences

Dr. George Burruss was invited to present "Building trust in digital response: The role of chatbots in cybercrime prevention" at the College of Behavioral and Community Sciences (CBCS) hosted Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Reality in Behavioral Sciences Town Hall in collaboration with the Bellini College of Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and Computing.
CIBR Lab manager, Marlena Bolton (left), was in attendance, as well as one of SeniorSafe AI chatbot project's integral collaborators, Dr. Ly Dinh of USF's College of Arts and Sciences (right).

Dr. George Burruss (second slide) was invited to present "Why Smart People Fall for Fake Emails and How to See the Con Coming: The Psychology Behind Phishing" at Raymond James as part of their Innovation Insights speaker series, internally hosted for their employees. CIBR Lab managers, Courtney Weber (middle) and Marlena Bolton (left), and Bressia Borja (right) attended the presentation along with approximately 350 Raymond James employees (in person and virtually). This presentation was inspired by October being National Cybersecurity Awareness Month.

Dr. George Burruss presented CIBR Lab's plans to develop an AI chatbot to assist senior victims of different cybercrimes, titled "Project SeniorSafe", to law enforcement agencies located across the state of Florida as well as representatives from other institutions like Raymond James Financial and the US Secret Service. While law enforcement agencies and the cybersecurity industry do track cybercrime incidents, there is a significant gap in understanding the victims. The initiative seeks to gather detailed information about incidents to help law enforcement and cybersecurity professionals develop evidence-based policies and provide resources and guidance to victims of cybercrime.
